Finally the day has come and Jeffrey, Amy and Anna Kate are coming to Wigbey Island.  The day started out cloudy and I had a serious discussion with God and told him that at least the next four days had to be beautiful.  He really did pay attention.  Because not only were the next four day perfect but so were the next 6.  I guess I got in ahead of the holiday crowd.

Ed & I did some last minute food shopping just to make sure that no one would go hungry.  I had the salad, ravioli and pasta sauce all ready when they arrived around 7:30.  I bought an apple cake from Grrenbank farms.  It really wasn't very good.  I was disappointed.  We, of course, had met Amy before and even though Jeffrey told us how adorable Anna Kate was nothing really prepared us for this charming two year old.  She won our hearts in about 2 minutes and we were her devoted followers for the rest of the weekend.

She was as good as she could be as we all ate dinner together and chatted about their trip and plans for the rest of their stay.  Amy put Anna Kate to bed in a pack and play that was at the house.  We had gotten another one from a very nice local motel thinking that we were getting a bigger crib. It was the same as what we had but the good news was sthe lady gave us a sheet to fit.  Anna Kate was used to sleeping in one at her grandparent's house so there was no problem.  They put her to sleep in the bunk bed room and they took the room next to the bathrooms.  It worked out just fine.

Today, just as yesterday dawned without a cloud in the sky.  We started the morning with Jeffrey and Pamela going for a run, Jeff going for a bike ride and Ed & I taking a walk.  We decided to eat home and then go to Boeing. So P&J ate left over pizza and ravioli and the rest of us grilled cheese sandwiches.  At first I didn't want to go because they said that there were going to be 23 very steep steps to climb.  That kind of worried me but it turned out to be nothing more than steps like any other steps, no big deal.  The tour was interesting.  We then took P&J's bikes back to the rental store and made the 5 o'clock ferry back home.  We decided to go back to the Dog House for dinner since we enjoyed it so much. The big joke was that when Mason & Diane were here we ate dinner there and hated it.  Now we think it is great.  We all had burgers, fried onion rings and two orders of sweet potato fries.  We had one half order too much of fries but brought them home.  Ed and I will have to eat them tomorrow.  The kids leave very early in the morning and I am very sad.  We stood out on the porch tonight and watched the sunset.  It was glorious and the weather is unbelievable.  The stars are so bright.  It is a memory to hold on to forever.  Pamela is very sad about Casey.  We all are.  I hope soon she will be left with only happy memories and the bad ones will fade away.

Today was as beautiful as it has been all week.  We all just took it easy today.  Jeffrey ran this morning.  Ed, Jeff, Pamela and myself went for a walk as far as the hill leading to town.  We went in and out of all the streets along the way.  When we got back Jeffrey suggested tha we go to the Dog House for lunch.  We had been there with Mason & Diane for dinner and hadn't much liked it but Jeffrey thought a laid back restaurant sounded good to him so we gave it a try. And he was right on.  I got the chili dog which was huge and really delicious.  Ed got a hamburger, P&J got another kind of hot dog and Jeffrey got the fish and chips. We got sweet potato fries and they were delicious.  So it was a big hit.  We came back to the house and this afternoon we just stayed around. The kids played frisbee and then threw the football around.  I took pictures.  Am trying to get some good shots of the house.  Jeff went for a bike ride this afternoon and needed to be rescued by Jeffrey and Ed because he got two flat tires.  Pamela saw a corgi at a house on Strawbridge Lane and kept hoping that she would see him again. She really is very sad over the loss of Casey.  We have been watching her house and Katzie on her web cam.  Everything there seems to be going okay.  Jeffrey, Ed and I watched "Dick and Jane"   It was kind of good.  He had brought a DVD.  At 7 we went to Cafe Langley for dinner.  It was delilcious.  P&J shared the Greek Sampler Plate.  Ed got the Penn Cove Mussels, Jeffrey the salmon, fish of the day, and I got Lamb Chops Santorini.  It was delicious.  We ordered some chocolate something for dessert with 5 spoons and coffee.  When we got back to the house the guys started to watch some god awful movie and Pamela and I played double solataire.  She lost interest after 2 games.  I hope I sleep as well tonight as I did last night.  That was the first good night's sleep I have had in two weeks.  Ed wrote to the owners of the island and is negotiating a price to come back next year for maybe 5 weeks.
